The Impact Tiling team has been working hard across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions completing some innovative, beautiful looking commercial projects. In this blog post, we wrap up some of our favourite commercial tiling projects of 2020 so far.
1. Tauranga Crossing Mall
Tauranga Crossing is a large retail precinct in Tauriko, Tauranga. First opening its doors with an outdoor town centre and The Millyard dining quarter in August 2016, the lifestyle centre opened in 2018, bringing some of New Zealand and the world’s most trusted large format retail stores to the area. Then, the first part of the Crossing’s fully enclosed shopping centre opened in October 2018, followed by a cinema complex and another 70 retailers and dining outlets opening in April 2019. One of the biggest projects within this complex was laying the tile floor in the main retail centre with a staggered chequered pattern throughout.
2. Bupa Hamilton Main Quarters and Residential Villas
The new Bupa care development in Te Rapa, Hamilton is currently under construction. Spread over 7,840sqm, the design calls for 26 apartments and 89 care rooms constructed using 520 ton of structural steel and 2,400 cubic meters of concrete. Impact Tiling is working alongside Livingstone’s Construction to bring the main quarters together, and Classic Homes to build the apartments.
3. APL Cambridge Industrial Fit Out
APL (Architectural Profiles Ltd) is the country's largest manufacturer of aluminum windows and doors and has been a stalwart in Te Rapa since 1971. A relocation to Hautapu, Cambridge is currently in the works. The 56.7 hectare industrial zone development, bordering the Waikato Expressway, will be Waipa's largest industrial park. More than five hectares has been ring-fenced for a central hub with visitor accommodation and conference centre, a healthcare and childcare centre, research and development and retail. When completed, APL's new factory will be 400m long and 100m wide. Impact Tiling is fitting out parts of the facility, including the bathrooms, kitchen and utility spaces.
4. Copper Crest
Just 10 minutes’ drive from The Crossing, Greerton Village and two golf courses, Copper Crest Retirement Village is a gem in Tauranga’s crown. The village offers two or three-bedroom villas, with community facilities including a heated swimming pool, spa, gym, snooker table, table tennis, two bowling greens and a hair salon. The Meridian Centre offers a dining and dancing area with piano, bar and lounge with gas fire as well. The Impact Tiling team fitted out the beautiful villas as well as the community facilities with beautiful bathrooms, wet rooms, kitchens and communal areas.
5. Summerset Rototuna
Located in the exciting and developing area of Rototuna North, Summerset’s newest Hamilton village is growing fast and proving to be popular! There are gorgeous cottages, two and three bedroom villas and serviced apartments available, to suit all needs. When complete, the village will include 264 homes, a village centre with brand new recreational facilities and a care centre offering rest home and hospital-level care, plus a state-of-the-art memory care centre.
6. Summerset Papamoa
Once complete, Summerset by the Dunes will offer 287 stunning homes to choose from, including villas, cottages, serviced apartments and memory care suites. Located in the heart of the Bay of Plenty at Papamoa Beach, the complex is 4kms to Papamoa Beach town centre, 15kms to Mount Maunganui, and 20kms to Tauranga CBD. The communal facilities include an indoor pool, movie theatre, residents bar, library, hair salon, exercise room and pool table games room. The first brand-new homes will be available later in 2020 and the Impact Tiling team has been working to bring the tiling elements together accross the complex.
